TRIZ is a Russian technique which is embodied in the TechOptimiser® software. In it there are special techniques for solving different types of engineering problems, particularly contradictions. This can lead to innovative solutions to recalcitrant problems. Although this technique is still relatively unknown in the West, it is rapidly gaining ground, and helps us to solve some of the more difficult problems.
