| Case Study - Motion Analysis and Simulation using Pro/MECHANICA MotionKinematic and Dynamic Motion AnalysisA suspension and subframe assembly was analysed using the Pro/Mechanica Motion rigid body dynamics package. This included a compliance analysis to find the effect of the rubber bushes.
Initial analysis focussed on kinematics analysis using 'rigid' joints, to optimise the hard points (link pivot positions) for bump steer, camber change etc. within the available space envelope. Then rubber bush properties (initially linear, then non-linear) were introduced for the suspension and subframe bushes. These were then tuned to give the appropriate toe-steer and camber change responses under braking accelerating and cornering forces.
