About Elite Consulting
We were one of the first companies in the UK to use Pro/MECHANICA® and we continue to use Pro/MECHANICA for Structural, Thermal and Dynamic analysis. We were also the first company in the UK to be granted CEP status for Pro/Mechanica by PTC
A background in automotive engineering led Elite into working on a number of significant project management assignments for leading motor manufacturers.
Our consultants are all highly experienced engineers who use powerful tools and techniques to find practical solutions to engineering problems.
Ray Ellender founded the company after he left Lotus, where he was Chief Engineer - Body & Chassis Design and Programme Manager for new car programmes for 5 years. The initial focus was programme management and finite element analysis in the automotive industry. For the FE analysis, we chose Pro/MECHANICA because of its combination of ease of use, automatic convergence and optimisation functionality; a choice that is still relevant today. We subsequently also bought Pro/ENGINEER as our 3D CAD modelling software.
We also provide training & consultancy in Pro/ENGINEER & Pro/MECHANICA, and in fact this part of our business is expanding, as we write our own specialist course material for some of the courses that are not available elsewhere. See Training
Ray Ellender, who is a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner, continues to provide Project Management consultancy for product development programmes and has extended this aspect of our business to include consultancy to help companies improve their New Product Development/New Product Introduction (NPD/NPI) processes. This has lead more recently into Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) consultancy, and the provision of PD-Trak software.
Our clients come from all sectors of industry and include major corporations, manufacturing companies and research organisations, such as:-
We retain a special interest in the automotive industry, and can provide the following specialist services
Pro/MECHANICA User Group
We also run the Pro/MECHANICA User Group which provides a forum for other Mechanica users in the United Kingdom. Recent meetings were in July 2008 in Birmingham and in Nov 2008 at PTC World.
