Pro/MECHANICA® and we continue to use Pro/MECHANICA for Structural,
Thermal and Dynamic analysis. We were also the first company
in the UK to be granted CEP status for Pro/Mechanica by PTC
A background in automotive engineering led Elite into working
on a number of significant project management assignments for leading motor
manufacturers.

Some history
Ray Ellender founded the company after he left Lotus,
where he was Chief Engineer - Body & Chassis Design and Programme
Manager for new car programmes for 5 years. The initial focus was
programme management and finite element analysis in the automotive
industry. For the FE analysis, we chose Pro/MECHANICA because of its
combination of ease of use, automatic convergence and optimisation
functionality; a choice that is still relevant today. We subsequently
also bought Pro/ENGINEER as our 3D CAD modelling software for design
work and we use CFDesign from Blue Ridge Numerics for
CFD analysis.
Because of our expertise in
Pro/MECHANICA, in 2001 PTC requested that we become their
specialist Functional Simulation software reseller in the UK, and
shortly afterwards, we were made a full Pro/ENGINEER reseller. However
we stopped being a PTC reseller in 2006, in order to allow more time to
concentrate on our consultancy business. All our Pro/Engineer software
and maintenance customers were transferred to another reseller in the
UK, Concurrent
Engineering. However we continue to provide training & consultancy
in Pro/ENGINEER & Pro/MECHANICA, and in fact this part of our business
is expanding, as we are writing our own specialist course material for
courses that are not available elsewhere.

At around the same time we became the UK resellers for
CETol tolerance analysis software and started
doing tolerance analysis consultancy, which is another field that is
developing a growing interest.
Ray Ellender continues to provide
Project Management consultancy for
product development programmes and has extended this aspect of our
business to include consultancy to help companies improve their
New Product Development/New
Product Introduction (NPD/NPI) processes. This has lead more
recently into Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) consultancy, and the provision
of PD-Trak software.

Pro/MECHANICA User Group
We have also run the Pro/MECHANICA User Group which
provides a forum for other Mechanica users in the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately the user group has been dormant for a while, but with the
forthcoming release of the Wildfire 4.0 version of Pro/MECHANCA, we are
